Mountain Biking Introductory Skills Course 12th September

WThis is an introductory level course for those new to mountain biking or for those who have been riding for a while but would like to learn more about how to get the best out of themselves and the bike. It is very much a practical course with the emphasis on getting out there and riding your bike.

09:30 - 12:30
The morning session will include the following:
The Ready Position
Fundamentals of Braking
Basics of the Manual
Negotiating Obstacles
Choice of Line
Cornering
Descending
Climbing

13:30 - 16:30
The afternoon session will include a ride in the local area, using trail features to enable you to put into practice what you have learned in the morning.

All riders should come with their own mountain bike in good condition, (a hard tail is fine). Bikes will be checked for suitability and road worthiness on the morning of the course, if your bike is deemed unsuitable, opportunity will be given to find an alternative bike but the course will not wait to commence. If you are unsure as to the suitability of your bike, please make contact with us at least 48 hrs before the course is due to start and we can advise accordingly.

Appropriate clothing should be worn, helmets are mandatory. If you don't have a bike, please contact us prior to the event if you would like to hire one.

The course will be run from Belper Bike Barn, riders should bring their own packed lunch and refreshments and be prepared for being out in the open all day.

Cost - £45 per person (minimum age, 12 years).
